Finding your flow on Hinchinbrook Island

If you’ve been dreaming of a way to truly disconnect and rediscover your sense of adventure, this is the sign you’ve been waiting for. Hinchinbrook Island rises dramatically from the Coral Sea, offering a rugged landscape of granite peaks and untouched beaches right in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. It is one of Australia’s most breathtaking coastal wilderness areas, and there is simply no better way to experience its magic than by sea kayak with a fun group of women travellers.

Over five days, we journey along the island’s remote coastline on a fully guided, all-women expedition. We paddle past jagged headlands and into quiet, turquoise bays that feel a million miles away from the "to-do" lists of everyday life. This is slow travel at its best - where the focus is on the journey and the wonderful women beside you rather than just the destination.

What Makes an Adventurous Women Trip Different?
We keep our groups small - with a maximum of 12 guests - to ensure the environment stays supportive and personal. With an Adventurous Women Tour Leader and two experienced crew members by your side, you can let go of the "mental load" of planning. We handle the logistics so you can focus on the water.

In our world, we celebrate progress, not pace. There’s a unique sense of ease that comes with an all-women environment; it’s grounded, ego-free, and designed to protect you from any "fitness elitism". You’ll find that the atmosphere is quietly empowering and refreshingly welcoming.

Real Talk: How Fit Do I Need to Be?
You certainly don’t need to be an elite athlete, but a solid base level of fitness is important for this one. On this guided expedition, we paddle for several hours each day in two-person kayaks built to glide through open water. You’ll also have plenty of chances to swim, snorkel, and explore the island on foot.

Conditions can change, and our expert guides are pros at adjusting the daily plan to suit the weather and the group’s energy. If you enjoy being active and are happy to do a bit of training beforehand (we’ll share all our best tips!), you’ll find this experience incredibly rewarding. There is a special kind of satisfaction that comes from traveling under your own power.

A Typical Day in the Wild
Life on the water is shaped by the tides and the breeze, so a little flexibility is part of the fun. We usually rise early to catch the cooler morning air and lighter winds, getting most of our paddling done before the midday sun.

By lunchtime or mid-afternoon, we’ve usually arrived at our next beach camp. This leaves your afternoons completely free to swim, explore, or just enjoy some well-deserved "me-time" off the clock. As with any true expedition, we work as a team. Whether it’s helping move a kayak above the tide line or setting up your personal tent, these shared moments are where the best stories are made.

Comfort Under the Stars
For three nights, we camp right on the sand - simple, comfortable, and fully immersed in nature. It’s basic but beautiful:

 - Private single pop-up tents for your own space.

 - Inflatable mattresses provided for a better night's sleep.

 - Environmentally friendly systems for privacy and comfort.

 - The sound of the waves lulling you to sleep every night.

Food on the beach

We’ve Got the Kitchen Covered
You might be in the wilderness, but you won't be roughing it when it comes to food. This is a fully supported tour, meaning our crew manages the logistics and prepares nourishing meals every day.

We start the trip with fresh ingredients from the mainland and transition to clever, hearty meals as we go. It’s truly impressive what can be whipped up in a beach kitchen while you sit back and connect with your fellow travelers. We take care of the cooking and the cleaning, so you can focus on the adventure.
