Overview

Explore Cambodia with AW

Cambodia is a country that surprises people : rich in history, culture, nature and warmth far beyond the temples it’s famous for. Travelling with AW owner Marie, who was born and raised in Cambodia, makes this journey even more meaningful. Her personal stories, local connections and deep love for her homeland bring every experience to life.

Designed to immerse you in Cambodia’s traditions, landscapes and everyday life, this adventure combines iconic highlights with lesser-known treasures. Explore the temples of Angkor and hidden jungle ruins, enjoy unique culinary experiences, cultural performances and village visits, and discover the warmth of Cambodian hospitality.

Beyond the main tourist trail, travel to Kratie and Mondulkiri for kayaking on the Mekong, encounters with rare freshwater dolphins and time at an ethical elephant sanctuary. Finish in Phnom Penh, where Cambodia’s complex past meets its vibrant modern energy.

Optional extension: unwind on the tropical island paradise of Koh Rong Sanloem.

Who will be leading the trip?

All AW trips are accompanied by one of our experienced Tour Leaders. Their role is to take the hassle out of your travels and help you get the most out of your experience, while embracing the Adventurous Women way.

You’ll also be supported by a local Cambodian tour leader for much of the trip and a few specialist guides along the way.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

We do our best to accommodate dietary requirements and food allergies on every tour.  There may be times when options are limited but we’ll be sure to inform you in advance.

Accommodation

We will be staying in a mix of comfortable hotels and charming guesthouses.

How will we be travelling?

We will travel by private bus or van for most of the journey, allowing us to comfortably explore Cambodia’s diverse regions. While some travel days are longer as we cover significant distances, the scenery is ever-changing and offers a fascinating glimpse into everyday life across the country.

Is travel insurance required?

Travel insurance is mandatory for AW's international trips. We recommend taking out a policy early. Most good travel insurance policies offer an upgrade option to cover trip cancellation and interruption, which can come in handy.

If you are looking for a recommendation, we suggest Go Insurance. Through an affiliation with this insurer, AW receives a financial benefit. As a way of passing value back to our guests, if you purchase a policy for an AW trip through Go Insurance using this link, you may be eligible for our rebate offer.

Do I need a visa?

Australian passport holders require a visa to enter Cambodia, and an electronic arrival card must also be completed prior to travel. While obtaining these documents and covering the associated fees is the traveller’s responsibility, we will provide clear instructions and helpful reminders in the lead up to the trip.

I want to extend my stay

If you are not in a hurry to get home, take our extended beach break option to the stunning island, Koh Rong Sanloem which offers the perfect tropical retreat.
