Meet the Team

Marie joined Adventurous Women as Owner & Chief in January 2024, taking over from founder, Sue H. Having spent years in adventure travel previously, but then re-training as a chef, Marie yearned for the sense of community and camaraderie that comes with group adventures and longed for the opportunity to get outdoors.

Originally a native of Cambodia, Marie's playground was the vast archaeological ruins and forests of Angkor. She is now a resident of Brisbane and often leads or joins the S.E. Queensland day trips as well as occasionally hosting multi-day adventures.

Jazzy lives for the thrill of a challenge. She has hiked thousands of kilometres across the globe while also conquering Kilimanjaro, Kokoda, Kala Patthar and Everest Base Camp.

Adventurous at heart yet deeply grounded, she carries an enduring love for her homeland of New Zealand but goes wherever her boots take her!

Lyn's happy place is anywhere outdoors; hiking, kayaking, camping, and also getting out into the wild by 4WD or motorcycle. She love to seek out unique, challenging and fun ways of experiencing the world and believes women of any age or stage of life should have opportunities to live the life they desire.

She has also made the transition from traveller to travel writer, and thoroughly enjoys sharing travel tales, preferably around a campfire!

Anna loves an adventure and a challenge! She’s an avid hiker having recently completed the Kumano Kodo Nakasendo trail in Japan.

Anna is a Bibbulmun Track end-to-end'er and loves being out on the WA trails on day hikes or multi day adventures.

She has hiked the UK Coast to Coast, Cleveland Way and the Portuguese Camino with lots more treks on her bucket list! Whilst she’s not hiking Anna enjoys ocean swimming, kayaking and cycling.

After moving from Canberra, Tara found her perfect match in the AW community, driven by her lifelong love for the outdoors and memories of camping and hiking with her family.

Transitioning from a career as an Executive Chef, she discovered a passion for long-distance trekking to combat burnout and soon pursued a certificate in Outdoor Leadership.

Now a Tour Leader, Tara inspires women to embrace adventure, build confidence, and create lasting memories. Outside of AW tours, she guides high school expeditions involving hiking, mountain biking, and water sports and enjoys abseiling around the Sunshine Coast on weekends, sharing her infectious enthusiasm for exploration.

After starting out as a tour leader, Anne built a career in tourism designing and delivering travel experiences across Southeast Asia.

Two decades later, she’s still doing what she loves, drawing on her operational know-how and passion for adventure to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes at Adventurous Women.

Now based in Turkey, Anne spends her downtime hiking with her dogs, exploring on her motorbike, open-water swimming and planning her next adventure.

Chris has been bush walking and involved in outdoor activities with friends since she was a teenager and still haven't lost her love of the outdoors, looking for new adventures and challenging the boundaries.

Chris joined Adventurous Women in 2018 as a host to share her passion with other like-minded women and see them experience the magic of the outdoors and the ever changing scenery.

Effi, based in Western Australia, has always felt at home in the great outdoors. She finds joy in the simple beauty of nature- whether it's watching sunrises and sunsets, listening to birdsong, or admiring the shapes, colours, and patterns found in trees, leaves, and seashells.

A passionate walker and explorer, Effi regularly gets out into nature with her dogs, discovering bush walks and hiking trails across the region.

Shwe Yi brings her love of travel and adventure to her role as Guest Relations Coordinator at Adventurous Women. Born in Mogok, in the mountainous north of Myanmar, she developed a deep appreciation for nature and a passion for exploration early on through family trips around the country.

After completing her Bachelor of Arts in English, Shwe Yi entered the travel industry, eventually joining a bicycle touring company- an experience that sparked her enthusiasm for adventure travel.

Now based in Bangkok, Shwe Yi supports our guests throughout the booking process and is always ready to answer questions, ensuring everyone enjoys a smooth and memorable travel experience.
