"A great adventure with helpful, competent leaders, who contributed to making up the enjoyable group"
Spend a memorable week immersed in Tasmania’s spectacular east coast on this active adventure designed for a small group of like-minded travellers.
From the white sands of Wineglass Bay to the dramatic cliffs of the Tasman Peninsula, this week-long journey blends iconic hikes, wildlife encounters, and unforgettable outdoor experiences.
Walk some of Tasmania’s most stunning coastal trails, including Freycinet National Park, Maria Island, Cape Raoul, and Cape Hauy, where soaring dolerite cliffs plunge into the Southern Ocean. Along the way, discover pristine beaches, rugged headlands, and peaceful bushland while spotting wombats, kangaroos, seals, dolphins, sea eagles, and perhaps even whales.
Adventure continues on the water with a guided sea kayaking experience beneath some of the highest sea cliffs in the southern hemisphere, exploring sea caves and remote coves along the Tasman coastline. Balanced with cosy accommodation, shared meals, and time to connect, this is a journey filled with challenge, laughter, fresh air, and the camaraderie that comes from travelling with an inspiring group of women.
This is an active adventure featuring four hikes ranging from 9–15 km, along with a full day of sea kayaking that requires a reasonable level of upper body strength and endurance.
While the activities are designed to be achievable for most active women, some preparation beforehand will help you get the most out of the experience, particularly with several active days back-to-back. We recommend building up to comfortably hiking 10 km with a daypack, as well as incorporating some upper body and core training to prepare for kayaking and longer walking days. A good level of overall fitness will allow you to enjoy the journey more comfortably and confidently.
Welcome to Tasmania! Our adventure begins in Launceston, a city known for its historic streets and thriving food scene. If you arrive early, you may wish to explore at your own pace - perhaps wander the heritage sites, visit a local museum or enjoy lunch at one of the region’s excellent cafés.
We’ll meet at the hotel at 5.30pm for a group meeting followed by a welcome dinner to toast the adventure ahead!

We hit the road after breakfast, driving east along the Tasman Highway. After around three hours of scenic driving, we’ll reach the Bay of Fires, one of Tasmania’s most iconic coastal landscapes. Take some time to wander the white sands and admire the orange‑lichened granite rocks that give the Bay its name.
The drive continues south, stopping in St Helens, a charming coastal town. We’ll have lunch and, if time allows, take a stroll along the bay, soaking in the town’s small-town charm and scenic harbour views.
The last stretch of today’s journey takes us along the picturesque coastal route toward Swansea, taking in vistas of rugged beaches, coastal scrub, and glimpses of the distant Freycinet Peninsula along the way. We’ll arrive in Swansea in the late afternoon, ready to unwind and enjoy the tranquil waters of Great Oyster Bay.

Climb the short but steep track to the Fossil Cliffs, home to thousands of shellfish fossils preserved in ancient limestone. Then visit the Painted Cliffs - vivid, multi-hued Triassic sandstone sculpted by wind and water over millennia. Take time to explore the historic township of Darlington, once a penal colony and now a vibrant wildlife sanctuary.
After a memorable day of exploration, ferry back to the mainland for a relaxing dinner and overnight stay in Orford.

We pause in a secluded cove to enjoy a gourmet Tasmanian lunch before continuing our paddle past a semi-submerged shipwreck and back along this spectacular stretch of coast.
We’ll paddle back to land in the afternoon, then continue to Port Arthur. After checking in to the hotel, there may be time to explore the historic Port Arthur sites (own expense) before dinner.
