Solo Travellers

Not to worry, you’re in good company! Many of our travellers join solo and our trips are designed to feel welcoming and supportive from the moment you arrive. It’s a great way to meet like-minded women, and friendships often form quickly along the way.

If you’re travelling on your own, we will have you sharing with different women from the group at different times - great for group bonding and also for alleviating any potential annoyances that may occur as a result of travelling with the same person throughout a tour.

If you’d prefer your own room, this option is available for an additional supplement.  You can select your rooming preference at the time of booking or reach out to us for more information.

Arrival & Departure Details

The tour begins on 24 March at 5.30pm, meeting at our hotel in Casabalanca for a group meeting and welcome dinner.
The tour ends on 08 April in Marrakech with no scheduled activities on this day. You’re free to depart at any time that suits your travel plans.

Who will be leading the trip?

All AW trips are accompanied by one of our experienced Tour Leaders. Their role is to take the hassle out of your travels and help you get the most out of your experience, while embracing the Adventurous Women way.

You’ll also be joined by a Moroccan Tour Leader who will share local insights, hidden gems and interesting stories about the places you visit along the way. Local specialist guides are also included for specific site visits.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

We do our best to accommodate dietary requirements and food allergies on every tour.

In Morocco, however, cuisine options can be more limited and repetitive for those with specific dietary needs. Please let our team know at the time of booking, or prior to the rip, so we can ensure your Tour Leader and local ground team are informed and can prepare as much as possible. In some cases, we may also recommend bringing extra snacks or specialty items from home to make your journey more comfortable.

Accommodation

It's important to note that the tourism industry is still developing in Morocco.  Our accommodation is clean and comfortable but may be more simple than what you are used to in terms of decor, furniture, bed linens and amenities.

We stay in a mix of accommodations on this trip.

  • 12 nights in Hotels or riads- riads are traditional Moroccan-style accommodations, often with simpler bathroom facilities (ie- no shower stall separating it from the toilet area)

  • 1 night in a guesthouse- at the guesthouse in Armed, there may be 3-4 people per room. Most of the rooms have ensuite bathrooms but this cannot be guaranteed.

  • 1 night at a desert camp- The desert camp features fixed tents with real beds, ensuite bathrooms and air conditioning.

How will we be travelling?

This trip includes several long driving days, a necessary part of covering so much ground across Morocco! Throughout the journey, we’ll travel in a private, air-conditioned bus only for our AW group. To keep things fair and comfortable for everyone, we ask our guests to rotate seats regularly so that everyone has the chance to sit at the front and enjoy a window seat during the trip.

What should I bring?

A detailed packing list will be provided closer to the tour date. The most important item is a comfortable, well-broken-in pair of walking shoes as there is a lot of time spent on your feet, exploring Morocco.

Is travel insurance required?

Travel insurance is mandatory for AW's international trips. If you haven't done so already, we recommend taking out a policy early. Most good travel insurance policies offer an upgrade option to cover trip cancellation and interruption, which can come in handy.

If you are looking for a recommendation, we suggest Go Insurance. Through a partnership with this insurer AW guests receive a 10% discount off the cost of insurance using this link (discount will be applied at checkout)
