The style

What is an AW Trek?

Treks sit at the more challenging end of our tour range. These are longer, multi-day hikes often over demanding terrain, in remote and spectacular places that make every bit of effort worth it, from Himalayan trails with Everest on the horizon to the ancient coastal paths of Turkey's Lycian Way.

This is proper adventure, and it asks something of you. The days are longer, the terrain can be steep and rugged, and on some treks you'll be hiking at altitude or staying in basic mountain accommodation. However the reward is the kind of deep satisfaction camaraderie that comes from going the distance, alongside a small group of women cheering each other on along the way.

One thing to know up front: these aren't trips to 'get fit on.' Pre-trip training and preparation are essential, both to keep you and the group safe and to make sure you enjoy every step.

Be prepared

Training makes all the difference

We'll be upfront: a trek isn't the place to get fit. The fitter and better prepared you arrive, the more you'll enjoy it and the safer you and the whole group will be.

However training for a milestone trip like these is also rewarding. We let you know what's involved well ahead of time, so you can train with confidence and arrive ready to take anything on.

A challenge, shared

Taking on something this big is a whole lot better in good company, something you can be sure of with the AW community. You'll have an AW Tour Leader and experienced local guides with you, plus a small group of women all in it together, encouraging each other through the tough bits and celebrating together at the top. You bring the determination, we'll bring the support.
